Useful Internet Tool

I have used and instructed students to use Animoto (www.animoto.com) to create videos and presentations. Teachers can apply for a full-access account for their students that is good for one calendar year. Students can create full-length movies using text and images. Audio is also included or can be uploaded to be included.

Students had to create a visual presentation of the Bill of Rights. Several chose to draw or collage pictures to describe the first 10 Amendments. I had others who did not feel savvy enough to attempt a new technology, but the 40% I had that attempted Animoto found it easy to use and exciting. They had wonderful discussions about appropriate images to convey the meaning of the Amendments.
